Timok Riverside and Town Beach
Where the Crni and Beli Timok merge: a riverside recreation area with beach, stage and sports pitches.
North of Zaječar the Crni Timok and Beli Timok merge into the Veliki Timok, which later joins the Danube as a right tributary. Measured from its farthest source the river system runs 202 kilometres, with a catchment of 4,626 square kilometres. The name reaches back to antiquity – Timacus in Latin, Τίμαχος in ancient Greek.
The town makes use of its riverbank: along the Timok lies an extensive recreation area with a maintained beach, a stage and pitches for various ball sports, plus a generous, park-like minigolf course. For a summer evening in Zaječar this is the obvious address.

- In high summer the town beach is the busiest spot in Zaječar – come in the morning if you want quiet.
